Have you ever felt threatened or ostracized as an open secularist? If you haven’t, you’ve probably heard stories from around the world. Here in the United States atheists are allowed a voice, but are often criticized and excluded for doing so. However, this pales in comparison to the global threat to secularism. The truth is, in some places around the world a person could be put to death for simple apostasy. Chad and Anthony feel that the global atheist community needs to come together in an effort to stop these atrocities. Listen to us discuss this disturbing trend.

In this episode we are launching a new type of episode called “At the Movies.” With this format we will be watching a feature film that thematically fits with the content of this podcast. Not every movie will be blatantly religious or secular, but it might hit some marks that are relevant to what we want to do with The Secular Perspective.

We would also like to invite the audience to suggest movies that would make for a good discussion. Feel free to send those suggestions and recommendations through the proper channels.

If you have ever wondered how an atheist reads The Bible, this series is for you. Anthony and Matt discuss notes they took and thoughts they had as they read Genesis. This is the third episode of the series Secular Bible Study where Anthony and Matt read through The Bible for the first time as secularists.

Eventually, all 66 books will be covered. Unfortunately, Anthony and Matt had A LOT to say; so the recording is being broken up into multiple parts. This is the last episode for Genesis. In the weeks to come we will move on to Exodus; so make sure you come back!
